Last year at EICMA, TVS unveiled the Tangent RR concept bike. The motorcycle manufacturer has recently submitted a design patent, suggesting that a potential production model may be on the horizon.

Recently, TVS has been putting a new sport bike through its paces. Anticipation surrounds the upcoming model, which is likely to utilize BMW’s innovative 450cc twin-cylinder platform and may feature design elements inspired by the Tangent RR. The patent illustrations mirror the bold, dynamic design of the original concept. This design features a semi-faired structure, showcasing a uniquely styled front cowl and a sleek, narrow tail section.

Although the Tangent RR is still in the conceptual stage and details about its powertrain are yet to be revealed, it has the potential to lay the groundwork for the upcoming TVS Apache RR 450. This model will probably use the same platform as the upcoming BMW F 450 GS, positioning the Tangent RR as an intriguing glimpse into the future.

TVS Tangent RR concept

TVS Motor Company unveiled six motorcycles at the event, with the Tangent RR concept standing out as a notable feature, a fully faired sports bike equipped with a monocoque-style subframe.

The motorcycle has officially been granted a patent in India, and the design outlined in the filing aligns perfectly with the version showcased at the exhibition. The sleek fairing, expertly shaped fuel tank, and streamlined tail section stay the same. At the forefront, it showcases air intakes effortlessly integrated into the fairing, replacing traditional headlights. The exhaust is on the left, next to the offset monoshock configuration, and dual front discs handle braking. Aside from the aesthetics, the patent offers minimal insights. Currently, there is no official word regarding the engine specifications, platform details, or performance metrics.

As is often the situation, a design patent submission does not guarantee that production is underway or that a launch is on the horizon. It effectively safeguards the aesthetic appeal. Nonetheless, the filing suggests that the Tangent RR could potentially be more than just a unique showcase model, despite the uncertainty surrounding its production future.

TVS Tangent RR performance

The TVS Tangent RR will be equipped with the latest 450cc twin-cylinder engine, which is also featured in the BMW F 450 GS. The engine produces 48 horsepower and 43 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed transmission for a smooth driving experience. The performance metrics and setup can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of a track vehicle. The TVS Tangent RR is expected to feature a range of technological advancements and rider-assistance tools.

The possibilities might include cornering ABS, lean-sensitive traction control, a bi-directional quickshifter, wheelie control, and rear lift protection. The motorcycle might feature a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Various riding modes are anticipated to provide the best handling in different conditions.

Tangent TT TVS’ new Flagship

Upon its debut, the Tangent RR is set to become TVS’s flagship offering. TVS is set to emphasize the rollout of top-notch features while ensuring the bike is offered at a budget-friendly price. It will go head-to-head with competitors such as the Aprilia RS 457, Kawasaki Ninja 500, and Yamaha R3. It might just replace the TVS Apache RR 310 in the brand’s lineup. It is anticipated to feature a unique style in harmony with the brand’s design principles.
